Yes! The IP68 rating means the Endurance Peak 3 can be submerged in up to 5 meters of water. JBL specifically designed them for swimming. However, keep in mind that Bluetooth doesn't work well underwater, so you'll experience dropouts if the earbuds are fully submerged with your phone on the pool deck. For lap swimming, you'll want to use them with your head above water or use the onboard music storage if available.
No, the JBL Endurance Peak 3 does not have active noise cancellation. Instead, it has JBL's Ambient Aware mode which uses the microphones to let in outside sound — useful for running outdoors where you need to hear traffic. The passive noise isolation from the sealed fit does block some ambient noise, but there's no ANC. If ANC is important to you, consider the Jabra Elite 4 Active or Beats Powerbeats Pro 2.
Very secure. The PowerHook design wraps around the back of your ear, and the TwisLock+ Freebit eartips create a firm seal in your ear canal. In our testing, they stayed put through CrossFit workouts, sprinting, jumping rope, and even trail running. They're bulkier than in-ear-only designs, but the tradeoff is a fit that virtually never comes loose accidentally.
The JBL Headphones app is functional but basic compared to Jabra or Bose apps. You can adjust EQ with a few presets, update firmware, and customize controls, but it's not as polished or feature-rich. The main value here is the hardware — the durability, battery life, and secure fit — rather than the software features.
The JBL Endurance Peak 3 is the most durable sport earbuds in their price range, with an IP68 rating that lets them handle swimming, dust storms, and anything else you can throw at them. While they lack ANC and the app is basic, the core workout experience — secure fit, long battery, and punchy sound — is excellent. If durability and waterproofing are your top priorities, these should be at the top of your list.
